IPC Comments On Annual General Meeting Results


HAMILTON, Bermuda, June 12, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- IPC Holdings, Ltd. (Nasdaq:IPCR) (BSX:IPCR BH) today announced that preliminary results from the Company's annual general meeting of shareholders show that the majority of shareholder votes were cast against the proposals relating to the proposed amalgamation with Max Capital Group Ltd. (Nasdaq:MXGL) (BSX:MXGL BH).

Kenneth L. Hammond, Chairman of IPC said, "We have heard the message sent by IPC shareholders regarding the Max transaction. We also note the overwhelming support our shareholders have shown for reelecting IPC's Board of Directors. Consistent with our fiduciary duties, the Board will review all strategic alternatives to maximize shareholder value, including sale of the company, and as part of this review will give consideration to Validus."

Based on preliminary results, an average of approximately 92% of shareholder votes were cast in favor of reelecting IPC's Directors at the annual general meeting.
