CHANGES IN RUUKKI GROUP PLC´S BOARD OF DIRECTORS                                

The Board of Directors of Ruukki Group Plc has decided to elect Jelena          
Manojlovic as the Chairman of the Board with immediate effect.                  

Jelena Manojlovic has been a member of the Ruukki Group Plc Board from 11 July  
2008. In addition, she is currently HR Director at Kermas Limited and a         
university lecturer. She has 35 years' experience from different positions      
working with people, teams and organisations e.g. in UK hospitals and           
universities.                                                                   

The previous Chairman of the Board, Alwyn Smit, will continue as the Chief      
Executive Officer as well as a Board member.
