Work Safety practice based on QPR ScoreCard rewarded by
European Agency for Safety and Health at Work

The work safety best practice of the Finnish subsidiary of the international
construction Group Skanska has been awarded at the European Campaign on Risk
Assessment competition. Thanks to it Skanska Finland has managed to diminish
the ratio of accidents substantially.

A total of 400 candidates were chosen in 2008 by the European Union member
states as candidates to the European Campaign on Risk Assessment competition
organized by the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (www.
osha.europa.eu). After thorough evaluation, the Agency awarded recognition to
eight best practices. Among them is the work safety best practice of Skanska
Finland.

The Company uses QPR's software for its performance and processmanagement
tasks. One daily performance management best practice in its construction sites
is the now rewarded practice to book the observed work safety risks by QPR's
performance management software, QPR ScoreCard. By doing this,Skanska Finland
managed to diminish the ratio of accidents leading to at least one day-long
sick leave per million working hours by 66% from the starting level in four
years' time.

“The remarkable outcome of Skanska's work safety best practice shows how
measuring leads to better consideration. Furthermore, it shows how performance
management brings excellent results also in areas other than its typical field
of hard financial indicators”, says Mr. Matti Erkheikki, Vice President of
QPR's software sales in Finland.
