Canyon Acres Launches New Endowment-Building Program

'Forever Kids Club' Aims to Raise $9M in Five Years

ANAHEIM HILLS, Calif., June 22, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Canyon Acres Children and Family Services, a charity organization committed to providing homes, care, treatment and supportive services for abused, neglected and emotionally troubled children and their families, today announced the launch of its 'Forever Kids Club,' a program designed to help build the agency's overall endowment. The program's overarching goal is to ensure Canyon Acres has future resources to serve children in need.

Donors become members of the Forever Kids Club either by making an outright gift to the endowment fund or by including Canyon Acres in their future estate plan or will. Through 2010, Canyon Acres will consider anyone who makes a gift to the endowment or includes Canyon Acres in their estate plan a 'Founding Member' of the club. Within five years, the agency aims to welcome at least 150 new members and to raise nine million dollars. Patrick Dirk of TROY Group, Inc., Vice-Chair of the Endowment Committee, will oversee the program.

"Canyon Acres has made tremendous strides these past few years in serving the abused, neglected and abandoned children of Southern California," said Dirk. "Now we are concentrating our attention on the future -- to safeguard those generations as well."

The Orange County Community Foundation (OCCF) is assisting Canyon Acres in Developing the Forever Kids Club via OCCF's own endowment-building 'Legacy Partnership Program.' That said, Canyon Acres is interested in joining with like-minded groups and individuals in the community who want to help children and families. Founding Members of the Club will receive frequent updates on all the progress the children in the programs are making. They will also receive invitations to Canyon Acres events and will be listed in each agency's newsletter annually. Founding Members also will be invited to a special, annual Club event and receive a unique Forever Kids Club lapel pin.

"We are excited to start this important program to make sure that future children are able to receive help from Canyon Acres," said Clete Menke, President of Canyon Acres. "Particularly in the last few years, the agency has done a wonderful job of developing and implementing important, new programs for children and families, and we want to make sure we are able to continue to do so well into the future. After nearly 30 years in Southern California, we are ready to take on this next challenge."
