The Saigon Tangent -- New Book Tells a Story During the Vietnam War and the Connecting Incidents That Happened Twenty Years Later

BRONX, N.Y., June 23, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Once a soldier, always a soldier. Prove this statement true in Kevin Clark's new action-packed novel, The Saigon Tangent, and see how five men continue their quest on fighting for justice even after so many years.

Packed with action and suspense, The Saigon Tangent tells the story of a Special Forces unit. Operating under the Central Intelligence Agency's Phoenix Project, they conducted covert operations that included rescuing prisoners of war and assassinating communist officials. This was all during the Vietnam War. During one of the rescue missions, a renegade KGB agent captured one member. He was then tortured to spill information. When he was rescued, allegedly a Russian was killed.

Almost twenty years later, a number of gruesome homicides stirred the NYPD. Thus, five of the original Special Forces members, who were now law enforcement officers at the local, state, and federal levels, were called upon to form a special task force. Their mission is to solve the murders while recovering top-secret documents taken from the CIA itself.

The Saigon Tangent will be featured in the 2009 New York Library Association Regional Book Exhibit at Niagara Falls, NY on October 15-16, 2009.
