About the Author

Eugene Bales has been a successful teacher of philosophy and related fields for nearly thirty-eight years and is presently the Provost and Dean of the College of Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas. He has presented and published papers on Plotinus and Heidegger, and is the author of A Ready Reference to Philosophy East and West (University Press of America, 1987), which was selected by Choice as an Outstanding Academic Book of 1988-1989. In 1998, he received the Mortvedt Teaching Excellence and Campus Leadership Award at Bethany College.
