Bring Back An Orderly Remembrance of Jesus Christ With Fundamental Principles of Serving the Lord's Supper -- New Book Reminds Us to Focus On the Significance of the Bread and the Cup

ROCKVILLE, Md., June 26, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Communion is a solemn and holy event where people partake in remembrance of Christ. However, there are times when communion process is disorganized or lacks structure, taking the focus away from our savior, Jesus Christ. Author Jonathan Walker Sr. attempts to rectify this problem as he presents Fundamental Principles: Preparing, Implementing and Overseeing Communion.

Using the study of fundamental concepts, the author creates a standard model for implementing, preparing, and overseeing the Lord's Supper. Organized as a condensed reference guide for a Christian who is assigned to serve on the communion table for the first time, this book's fundamental concepts will serve as a support structure so an orderly communion is rendered on a consistent basis. Walker's suggestions for planning and serving the Lord's Supper are designed to make communion go smoothly to avoid distraction, thus allowing those partaking of the Lord's body and blood to keep in their minds the meaning of the bread and the cup.

Professor Everett Ferguson states, "The author offers practical advice, not a doctrinal study, concerning the observance of the Lord's Supper. He has given much thought and study to the subject. His intense desire to improve the communion experience of Christians will help those who lead and serve at the Lord's Table."

Fundamental Principles is divided into three parts: preparing, implementing, and overseeing the Lord's Supper. It contains many practical suggestions on how those who plan and serve the communion feast can be transparent, allowing the attention to focus on Christ's sacrifice to initiate the new covenant. An experienced server can reference any topic, within the book, for a deeper understanding of the Lord's Supper. The principles and techniques are brief and concise so that a new server can rapidly apply the techniques within a week.
