Traffic Statistics June 2009

Summer holidays curb fall in passenger numbers
More than 1.9 million passengers passed through Copenhagen Airport in June.
This represents a 8.7% year-on-year fall. The fall is, however, lower than that
of the first five months of 2009.

“Having curbed the fall experienced in spring and stabilised the passenger
numbers is definitely positive despite the numbers being below the 2008 level.
The economic situation does not cause as many Danes to deselect air travel this
summer as we might have feared. The disbursement of SP funds is probably also
contributing to people's increased urge to travel”, said Carsten Nørland,
Director of Aviation, Copenhagen Airports A/S.

In June, a total of 1,913,263 passengers passed through Copenhagen Airport. The
number of locally departing passengers fell by 5.4%, while the number of
transfer passengers was 16.4% lower than that of June last year. International
traffic fell by 9.4%, while the number of domestic passengers was 2.1% below
the number of June of last year.

Uncertain months
In the first half-year 2009, the overall passenger number was 13% lower than
that of the same period last year, and the airport therefore considers the
current stabilisation positive. According to Carsten Nørland, some uncertainty
is, however, attached to the development in passenger numbers in the months
ahead.

“Given the economic situation, it will be interesting to see what we will be
facing when the summer holidays are over. If business travellers adopt a
different travel pattern than previously, this will continue to have a negative
impact on passenger numbers”, said Carsten Nørland.
