SAN DIEGO, July 22, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:KTOS), a leading national security, information technology and public safety solutions provider, today announced that it had provided a significant donation to Operation Homefront in the form of 1,000 backpacks that together contained more than $15,000 in school supplies.
Each backpack given to Operation Homefront contains essential school supplies, and are being distributed to military families across Georgia. The children of troops stationed at Fort Stewart in Hinesville, GA, will be the first to receive the backpacks. The initial distribution took place during the Fort Stewart Education Fair on Tuesday, July 21. Future distributions will occur at Fort Gordon near Augusta, Fort Benning in Columbus, Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, and to the National Guard and Marines.
