About the Author

When my dad passed away in 1990, he left one freshly written poem behind. He had written many wonderful poems over the years, but now there was hardly a trace of them around anymore, because his tattered collection of poems had been mislaid at a senior citizens' gathering near the end of his life. There was one written about my mother called, "My Queen Irene," and one about me as a child called, "My Buster Upper Boy Bill."

So it appeared to me the Olympic torch had been handed to me to carry on this family tradition. Within that same year, I entered a poem I'd penned in Sunday school class, into a contest sponsored by the National Library of Poetry. I have since written many poems and have seen my work appear in anthologies encircling the globe. All these and my participation in several International Society of Poets Conventions, leading to five books of my poetry getting published, besides this marvelous new one from Xlibris.

You may ask, "Is your poetry anything like that of William Shakespeare?" I have to answer, "NO." Nor is it like Wordsworth, Longfellow, or Robert Burns. Actually, my poetry is more like a blend of Tylenol, Metamucil and Maalox, to soothe the discomforts, the irregularities, and heart burns we all experience in the struggles of daily living. May this book be a fresh gust of wind for your sails.
