The Jagged Course of Heart Disease -- Cardiac Patient Narrates Her Grueling Wrestle With Heart Attack in New Autobiographical Book

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Aug. 24, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Over one million people in the United States experience heart attacks every year, and these attacks prove fatal about forty percent of the time. As a cardiac patient herself, author Anne Surtees narrates the dreadful events related to this condition -- from symptoms to surgery, to health care and recovery -- in her newly published book, WOMAN HAS HEART ATTACK, released through Xlibris.

Presented in story form, this book elaborately discusses the complications of heart disease and women's health in general-from a patient's point of view. Using common terms for easy reading comprehension, the story is about the author's disease progression as well as her experience during five different surgeries. The book also describes hospital rehabilitation classes, cost of medicines, dietary rules, disturbing effects of anesthesia, and other information about heart disease. Moreover, trust issues with doctors and medical care are explored as well.

Aside from being a memoir, WOMAN HAS HEART ATTACK educates readers on what to consider when heart-related medical conditions arise. It provides readers with awareness of different cardiac procedures and interventions for this disease. For more information on this book, log on to www.Xlibris.com.
