Investigations of cracks on the Siri installation

During an annual planned inspection Monday 31 August 2009 minor cracks were
observed in a water tank connected to the oil storage tank below the Siri
platform operated by DONG Energy.

DONG Energy immediately decided to shut down production while further
investigation was ongoing and has subsequently emptied the oil storage tank to
eliminate the risk of oil spill while further investigation is carried out. It
has been confirmed that no oil spill has occurred. The production stop includes
both the Siri, Stine, Nini and Cecilie fields and the manning of the platform
will be reduced to a minimum.

In 2008 the total production in the Siri area, comprising the Siri, Stine, Nini
and Cecilie fields, was 6.4 mill. bbl corresponding to a daily production of
app. 17,500 bbl. DONG Energy's total production in 2008 from the Siri area was
2.9 mill. bbl corresponding to a daily production of app. 7,900 bbl. Year to
date 2009 average daily production has been app.13,500 bbl corresponding to a
DONG Energy share of app. 6,000 bbl.

DONG Energy's partners in the area are Noreco and RWE.

As the investigations are ongoing it is not yet possible to estimate when
production can be restarted. Until this has been determined the impact of the
above on the production and the financial outlook for DONG Energy for 2009 is
unknown.
