Quarterly Changes to the NASDAQ Q-50 Index


NEW YORK, Sept. 11, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:NDAQ) announced today the results of the quarterly reranking of the NASDAQ Q-50 Index(SM) (Nasdaq:NXTQ), which will become effective with the market open on Monday, September 21, 2009.

The following nine securities will be added to the Index: Bucyrus International, Inc. (Nasdaq:BUCY), Dreamworks Animation SKG, Inc.'s Class A Common Stock (Nasdaq:DWA), Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc. (Nasdaq:GMCR) Linn Energy, LLC (Nasdaq:LINE), MICROS Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:MCRS), Allscripts-Misys Healthcare Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:MDRX), Onyx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq:ONXX), Palm, Inc. (Nasdaq:PALM), and United Therapeutics Corporation (Nasdaq:UTHR).

The Index is designed to track the performance of the 50 securities that are next in line to replace the securities currently included in the NASDAQ-100 Index(R). As a result of the evaluation, the following eight securities will be removed from the Index: Career Education Corporation (Nasdaq:CECO), Gentex Corporation (Nasdaq:GNTX), Gen-Probe Incorporated (Nasdaq:GPRO), Leap Wireless International, Inc. (Nasdaq:LEAP), Lincoln Electric Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq:LECO), OSI Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Nasdaq:OSIP), Patterson-UTI Energy, Inc. (Nasdaq:PTEN), and VCA Antech, Inc. (Nasdaq:WOOF).

The NASDAQ Q-50 Index is the basis for the PowerShares NXQ Portfolio (Fund) (Nasdaq:PNXQ), which seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the NASDAQ Q-50 Index.
