World's Top Chief Executives to Convene at Wall Street Journal CEO Council Annual Meeting

Corporate Leaders to Focus on Shared Responsibility for Business and Government


NEW YORK, Nov. 16, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Wall Street Journal is convening nearly 100 of the world's leading chief executives today and tomorrow to address urgent business and political issues at the annual meeting of the Journal's CEO Council (http://ceocouncil.wsj.com). The conference will take place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington D.C.

Through open debate and discussion, the members of The Wall Street Journal CEO Council will develop an action plan comprised of specific priorities for both business and government to ensure sustainable global prosperity.

In addition, the CEOs will meet with top policymakers from the Obama administration, as well as members of Congress and labor leaders. Participants include White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel; Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius; Council of Economic Adviser Chair Christina Romer; Budget Director Peter Orszag; Services Employees International Union (SEIU) President Andy Stern; U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) and U.S. Representative Ed Markey (D-MA).
