SACRAMENTO, CA--(Marketwire - December 15, 2009) - The American River Bankshares (AMRB)
Foundation, a program of American River Bankshares (
NASDAQ:
AMRB), the
Northern California-based holding company for American River Bank, today
announced its 2009 grant recipients, awarding a total of $60,000 to six
local non-profit organizations serving Amador, Placer, Sacramento or Sonoma
Counties. Since 2005, the AMRB Foundation has donated $315,000 to over 25
organizations in the communities we serve.
"We received proposals from so many worthwhile organizations that it
certainly makes it difficult to choose from among them, however given the
current economic environment, we felt it important to focus on those
organizations that provide basic services, such as food, clothing and
shelter, to those most in need," said David T. Taber, President of the AMRB
Foundation. "American River Bankshares is proud that as a strong,
profitable and growing local banking Company, we can continue to give back
to the community regardless of the market cycle."
The AMRB Foundation's 2009 grant recipients are as follows:
- Assistance League of Sacramento in Sacramento County will
receive $10,000 to support Operation School Bell, a program that

The mission of the AMRB Foundation is to support organizations that create
opportunity, enhance self-esteem and provide physical and emotional
well-being for the most vulnerable women and children. Proposals are
accepted to fund either the general operations of an organization's mission
or a specific program relating to women and children. Each proposal is
vetted by a volunteer employee committee, which then gives its funding
recommendations to the Foundation's Board of Directors.
