City National Bank Hires Russel Upton and Rob Pitois in its Private Client Services Group in San Diego


SAN DIEGO, Dec. 17, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- City National Bank announced today it had hired private banking and wealth management veterans Russel J. Upton and Rob Pitois in its Private Client Services Group in San Diego. Upton will serve as a senior vice president and a senior private client advisor, Private Client Services and Pitois will serve as a vice president and private client advisor.

In their new capacity, Upton and Pitois will focus on delivering comprehensive wealth management and banking solutions for high net worth families, select non-profits and professional services firms.

Upton and Pitois report to Carla Furuno, senior vice president and manager of City National Bank's Southern Region Private Client Services Division. Michael Pagano is executive vice president and manager of City National's Private Client Services Division.

Upton and Pitois most recently served with U.S. Trust, Bank of America, Private Wealth Management in San Diego. Upton joined U.S. Trust in March of 2007 and was a senior vice president. He had previously worked with Merrill Lynch in San Diego and Los Angeles. Upton has also worked in the entertainment industry, serving as manager in finance for New Regency Productions and a senior accountant for Morgan Creek Productions in Burbank.

Pitois previously served with U.S. Trust since June 2007 and was a vice president and private client manager. Previously, he had worked as a commercial banker for Citibank (Smith Barney) in Laguna Niguel and as a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch in San Diego.

Pitois is a graduate of San Diego State University. Upton graduated from California State University, Northridge, where he also received his MBA.
