Roswell Bank Exec Appointed to Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas Board


ROSWELL, N.M., Feb. 24, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (Bank) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ron G. Wiser to the Bank's Board of Directors. Mr. Wiser was appointed on January 15, 2010 to fill an unexpired term that will expire on December 31, 2010. He also has been appointed to serve as Vice Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Bank's Board of Directors.

Mr. Wiser serves as a director, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Bank of the Southwest, a $150 million community bank with 11 branches in the Roswell, Las Cruces, Truth or Consequences, Farmington, and surrounding areas. Mr. Wiser has been with Bank of the Southwest, one of the Bank's member financial institutions, since 1996. He brings 29 years of broad-based management and financial experience to the Bank's Board of Directors.

In addition to his duties with the Bank's Board of Directors, Mr. Wiser serves as board president of the Conquistador Council of Boy Scouts of America. He also serves on the boards of directors of the United Way of Chaves County, the Roswell Library Foundation, the Western States School of Banking, and the Western States Director Education Foundation. He is also a board member and past president of the New Mexico Bankers Association and he currently serves on the Community Bankers Council of the American Bankers Association, and he is a member of the Roswell Rotary Club.

Mr. Wiser completed his undergraduate studies and received his M.B.A. from Utah State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Wiser resides in Roswell with his wife Cindy, and three sons.
