New North Sea Field - Nini East - is now producing

Today the Nini East field in the Danish part of the North Sea has produced its
first oil. DONG Energy is operator of the field. The decision on developing the
field was announced in 2008.

“Producing from this new field is part of our endeavour to keep up production
for years ahead. With the development of the Nini East field we have added
years to the lifespan of the Siri complex”, says Søren Gath Hansen, Executive
Vice President in DONG Energy and responsible for the exploration and
production activities.

The Nini East field is part of the Nini license located in the Siri complex 200
kilometers from the Danish west coast. Nini East is an unmanned satellite
platform, from where the oil is transferred via Nini to the Siri platform for
further treatment and shipment. The Nini East platform is located seven
kilometres north-east of the Nini platform.

The field is estimated to hold approximately 17 million barrels of oil in
reserve of which DONG Energy's share is 6.8 million barrels. DONG Energy owns a
40% stake in the Nini license. The other license partners are RWE Dea and
Noreco, each owning a 30% stake in the license.

The information provided in this announcement will not change the previous
financial guidance for the financial year 2009 or the expected investment
level.
