NCSBN COO Casey Marks Earns Certified Association Executive Credential

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - March 1, 2010) -  The National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. (NCSBN®) www.ncsbn.org announces that Casey Marks, PhD, NCSBN Chief Operating Officer (COO), has recently earned the Certified Association Executive credential (CAE) from American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). The CAE is the highest professional credential in the association industry; less than five percent of all association professionals have earned this designation.

As the NCSBN COO, Marks oversees the business operation functions, including the Marketing & Communications, E-Learning Productions and Interactive Services, Finance & Administration; Human Resources, Information Technology, NCLEX® Examinations, and NNAAP™ & MACE™ Examinations departments. Prior to his appointment as COO, Marks previously served as the director of Testing Services and as a psychometrician. As the director of Testing Services, he was most notably responsible for the NCLEX® test service transition to Pearson VUE and the initiation of international administration of the NCLEX Examinations.

Marks is very active in the certification and licensure testing community. He is the immediate past president and chairman of the board of Association of Test Publishers (ATP). He serves as member on the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Personnel Certification Accreditation Committee and the ISO/CASCO working group for the Revision of ISO/IEC 17024:2003. Marks holds a PhD in Measurement, Evaluation and Statistical Analysis from the University of Chicago.

To be designated as a CAE by the ASAE, an applicant must have a minimum of three years experience in nonprofit organization management, complete a minimum of 75 hours of specialized professional development, pass a stringent examination in association management and pledge to uphold a code of ethics. To maintain the certification individuals must undertake ongoing professional development and activities in association and nonprofit management.
