Arch Chemicals, Inc. Announces EPA Registration for Densil(TM) DG 45 Antimicrobial and Vanquish(TM) 100 Antimicrobial for Use in Building Products


NORWALK, Conn., March 4, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has granted registrations of Densil™ DG 45 Antimicrobial and Vanquish™ 100 Antimicrobial, developed by Arch Chemicals, Inc., for use in building product applications.

According to Mark Kenline, Global Business Director for Arch's Industrial Biocides Building Products business, "The expanded U.S. EPA registration of Densil™ DG 45 and Vanquish ™ 100 antimicrobials based on Butyl BIT (N-Butyl-1,2-Benzisothiazolin-3-one) chemistry extends the reach of Arch's diverse portfolio of antimicrobial products and strengthens our commitment to providing unmatched products and service worldwide."

Both Densil™ DG 45 Antimicrobial and Vanquish™ 100 Antimicrobial are broad-spectrum antimicrobials that inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungi and algae, preventing odor, staining and premature product failure.  These products are a part of an extensive product line for interior and exterior paints, wallboard, ceiling tiles, flooring materials and carpeting that tackle the growing problems of mold, mildew and bacteria.
