Retalix Integrates Retalix Fuel, HQNet and StorePoint Solutions for Reitan Servicehandel

Retalix Helps Scandinavian Retailer Meet Fast Time-to-Market Requirements; Single IT Infrastructure Increases RSH's Visibility, Control and Efficiency

RA'ANANA, Israel, March 15, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Retalix® (Nasdaq:RTLX), a leading provider of software solutions for retailers and distributors, today announced that Scandinavian convenience store operator Reitan Servicehandel (RSH) has deployed an integrated solution from Retalix that includes its StorePoint, Retalix Fuel and Retalix HQNet software solutions at more than 1,000 RSH sites, including 300 Shell/7-Eleven stores on fuel stations in Scandinavia. The combined solution has given RSH greater visibility and control over its retail operations.

Reitan Servicehandel, based in Oslo, Norway, owns the franchises for 7-Eleven convenience stores in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. In 2008, the company entered into an agreement resulting in approximately 300 fuel stations being rebranded to Shell/7-Eleven. With the challenge of combining two well-known brands, a complex business model and stringent legal restrictions, RSH needed to quickly integrate its point-of-sale (POS), fuel sales and forecourt control systems with existing convenience store sales systems. The retailer chose Retalix as its lead partner in that endeavor.

"Once we decided to add the convenience/fuel concept to our service offering, selecting Retalix was the natural choice," said Jørgen Skålhegg, head of IT architecture at RSH. "We had already implemented Retalix StorePoint in our convenience stores, and the addition of Retalix Fuel provided us with a single infrastructure and solution for supporting all our operations, including the fuel component."

"Given the complexity of fuel card functionality and security requirements, the implementation was also quite complex," Skålhegg said. "At the same time, our alliance with Shell had generated quite a bit of interest within the industry; therefore, time-to-market was critical for us. Despite both the technical and time challenges, Retalix helped us meet our deadline, and the integrated system has been running smoothly ever since."

Rounding out RSH's efforts to comprehensively handle its diverse activities, the retailer implemented Retalix HQNet. A software solution for operating multiple chains, HQNet consolidates item, vendor and price information into a central data repository to improve decision making, pricing accuracy, margin control, product assortment, and inventory control.

"While we had been using Retalix's legacy hosted solution, we were looking for something that could help us grow over time, and HQNet fit the bill," Skålhegg said. "The solution provides more functionality, is more efficient and has a better user interface, making it more user-friendly."

Retalix HQNet covers all of RSH's needs and more in regards to running a multi-chain operation. "We use the system for catalogue, category and campaign management, and aim to leverage the solution's inventory management capabilities in the future," Skålhegg said. "Most importantly, Retalix HQNet has helped us build a stable foundation to meet our fast-growing demands."

RSH's integration of Retalix Fuel enables the retailer to offer a one-stop-shop that maximizes the value of its fuel and convenience store components. By automating the fuel sales process, Retalix Fuel enhances the operational efficiency of RSH's fuel component. By generating a unified bill for fuel and convenience store purchases through the use of a single card, the solution encourages customers to carry out indoor payments, which, in turn, creates in-store up-selling opportunities for RSH.

"Retalix is committed to providing end-to-end retail solutions for our customers that integrate seamlessly," says Ronen Levkovich, EVP International Division at Retalix. "Connecting more than 1,000 retail outlets for Reitan Servicehandel with three Retalix software solutions was certainly a challenge, but these trials are met by excellent software infrastructure and top level customer support."
