Dr. Axel Wieandt will leave Hypo Real Estate Group by mutual agreement and
step down from his position as Chairman and Non-Executive Member of the
Board of DEPFA BANK plc

Dr. Axel Wieandt, Chief Executive Officer at Hypo Real Estate Holding AG
and Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG offered his resignation to the Supervisory
Boards of the companies on Thursday 25 March 2010 due to differing views
with the Financial Market Stabilisation Fund (SoFFin) regarding the
management of the Group. It was with regret that the Supervisory Boards of
Hypo Real Estate Holding AG and Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG accepted the
resignation and Dr. Axel Wieandt has been released of his duties as of
today. Dr. Wieandt also resigned with immediate effect from his position
as Chairman and Non-Executive Member of the Board of DEPFA BANK plc.
The new Chairman of DEPFA BANK plc will be appointed in due course.
