Icelandic volcanic eruption affects Finnair flight traffic also on Saturday

Dust discharged into the air by the eruption of a volcano in Iceland is
disrupting flight traffic in Europe. Helsinki Airport remains closed until
Saturday, April 17th, 3 p.m. EET. Finnair has to cancel all of its flights on
Friday and flights on Saturday until 3 p.m.

The situation began on Thursday, when Finnair had to cancel a total of 40
return flights, which affected altogether 8,000 passengers. Finnair has over a
hundred return flight daily.

Passengers whose flights are cancelled may transfer their journey to a later
date by contacting the travel agency that sold their ticket or Finnair.
Passengers can also apply for a refund for Finnair flight tickets that remain
unused due to cancellations. If their flight is cancelled, passengers are
advised not to come to the airport.
