Air traffic standstill causing two million euro losses per day

The interruption of Finnair's air traffic due to the closure of airspace will
result in losses to the company of around two million euros per day. The losses
consist of lost revenue reduced by variable costs.

Finnair Group personnel have been notified that salary payments will stop after
two weeks if the situation continues and normal working is prevented. After the
stoppage of salary payments, the Finnair Group's daily losses will fall to
around one million euros.

Between Thursday and Saturday, Finnair has had to cancel 435 flights, affecting
around 54,000 passengers.

The airspace closure is due to an ash cloud, covering most of Europe, from a
volcanic eruption in Iceland. All of the main airports in Europe, among others,
have been closed due to the airspace closure.
