Warren Resources Recommences Drilling in California


NEW YORK, April 16, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Warren Resources, Inc. (Nasdaq:WRES) announced that it has resumed drilling operations in the Wilmington Townlot Unit ("WTU") in California. The first new horizontal well ("WTU No. 2171") was spudded on April 15, 2010 and will target oil production from the Tar formation. This will be the first horizontal Tar formation well drilled in the Northwest extension of the WTU.

This is the first of eight Tar formation oil wells that are currently planned to be drilled during the second and third quarters of 2010. The WTU No. 2171 well is being directionally drilled to a total measured depth of approximately 5,300 feet. Warren anticipates that the drilling and completion operations for this well will take approximately two weeks.
