Factum delivers 200th Multiplexer to Poland Factum Electronics, world-leading supplier of equipment for mobile digital multimedia broadcasting, today announced delivery of its 200th multiplexer system to its 25th country in conjunction with a commercial partnership with the Polish network operator EmiTel for the supply of DAB+ (digital radio) and T-DMB (mobile TV) to Poland. In the previously announced Polish trials, which aim at securing Poland's digital radio future, Factum's system replaces an existing installation from another supplier. Radio Wroclaw, the Polish public radio broadcaster, with TP Emitel and the National Institute of Telecommunications, run the first DAB+/DMB pilot transmission in Poland. Wroclaw's multiplex supports 11 services and one DMB service. The Wroclaw DAB+ trial covers Poland's fourth largest city and capital of Lower Silesia with a population of approximately 640,000. “Thanks to the Factum multiplexer's flexibility we could use remote feed functionality by adding two services coming from Warsaw, where the second DAB+ trial was started. We also use switching services according to a pre-programmed schedule. It works perfectly. Besides additional data services as Dynamic Labels or Slide Shows, which are very easy to configure in the multiplexer, we also offer an Electronic Program Guide service”, says Miroslaw Ostrowski of Radio Wroclaw. “We only started with DAB+ technology a few months ago, and we are not very experienced in managing a multiplex. Factum's specialists are always ready to help when we have problems, and thanks to this we feel we have all the support we need. It is very important for us who are still beginners in the field of digital radio.” “Factum actively promotes digital radio technology in new regions, and we are today proud to announce a new reference customer in Poland. Factum's track record stands out in the market and we are unique in boasting such a broad palette of successful installations in so many countries. A milestone in the number of delivered multiplexers to an incomparable number of countries is now passed”, says Fredrik Hånell, CEO of Factum Electronics AB and Effnet Holding AB.
