COSTA MESA, Calif., April 21, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The CDMA Development Group (CDG) today announced that it has added ten new member companies since the beginning of 2010 including Ericsson, which recently completed the purchase of Nortel Networks' CDMA business. The CDG added four operators – Alaska DigiTel, Movicel Angola, Open Mobile and Wisconsin RSA 7 – as well as machine-to-machine (M2M) service provider Kore Telematics, network equipment vendor AirHop Communications and device manufacturers SIM Technologies, Sonim Technologies and Teleepoch.

Ericsson, a leading global telecommunications equipment provider, will participate on the CDG's Executive Board, Advocacy Council (CAC) and Global Strategy Team (GST) to help set the CDG's strategic direction and priorities. Kore Telematics has joined the CDG's Smart Wireless Modules and Services Special Interest Group (SIG), which aims to enable its members and their customers in various vertical industries to leverage the data capabilities of CDMA2000 and its evolutionary next-generation technologies. SIM Technologies and Teleepoch are both supporting the CDG-led Open Market Handset (OMH) initiative to reduce inventory and distribution costs for a wider range of CDMA handsets, enabling more choice for consumers.
