Alternate Energy Holdings, Inc.'s Proposed Nuclear Plant Receives Another Approval in Elmore County, Idaho

Elmore County Planning and Zoning Commissioners Sign Off on Proposed Changes to County's Comprehensive Plan

BOISE, Idaho, April 23, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Alternate Energy Holdings, Inc. (OTCBB:AEHI) today announced another favorable decision from Elmore County Planning and Zoning Commissioners for its proposed Idaho nuclear plant. During Wednesday's meeting, the group officially signed their decision to change the county's comprehensive plan.

The plan changes next go before the Board of Commissioners for final approval.

"This step is a major hurdle for AEHI's proposed nuclear plant. Once the plan is signed by the Elmore County Commissioners they will have the ability to immediately approve our rezone application. The application was submitted a long time ago and has already been through the public hearing process," said Don Gillispie, AEHI CEO.

AEHI currently maintains two potential nuclear sites in Idaho. The second in Payette County is also working through the process of a comprehensive plan change.

An overwhelming majority of residents living in both counties are excited about the potential for building a nuclear power plant. The project would provide about 5,000 jobs through construction and more than 1,000 jobs during operations. Those opportunities average yearly salaries between $60,000 and $80,000 respectively.

During the construction phase alone, the project is estimated to increase Idaho's GDP by $5.3 billion, of which $4.8 billion will flow directly through the county.
