Julia M. Siebel Named to Board of Directors of The Association of Junior Leagues International


NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., April 30, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Newport Beach resident Julia M. Siebel, Ph.D., of the Junior League of Orange County, California, (JLOCC) has been named to the Board of Directors of The Association of Junior Leagues International Inc. (AJLI).

Siebel has been a member of the JLOCC for more than 20 years, holding a variety of leadership roles. Currently a sustaining member, she chaired the California Junior Leagues' Centennial Planning Committee in 2000-2002, served AJLI as Area VI Director in 2002-2004 and was a Nominating At-Large Delegate in 2006-2008. She holds a doctorate from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, in United States History and Women's Studies with a special emphasis on voluntary and community activism.

Siebel has served as Assistant Executive Director of the Mariposa Women and Family Center where she designed and implemented strategic fundraising plans. Prior to that, she was the Director of Volunteer Services for Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) and the Director of Major Gifts for the CHOC Foundation. She has been featured as the Keynote Speaker at numerous conferences around the country. In 2009, she received the JLOCC Kathryn Raulston Award for service that exemplifies a lifetime commitment to community leadership.
