Sauce Labs Eclipses One Million Tests Served in the Cloud

Demand Growing for Easy-to-Use Cross-Browser Testing Cloud Based Service

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - May 4, 2010) -  Sauce Labs (http://www.saucelabs.com), the Selenium Company, today announced that it has completed one million functional application tests in the cloud. Through its Sauce OnDemand service, Sauce Labs allows customers to run automated cross-browser functional tests in the cloud without having to maintain or update test infrastructure on-premise. Users of Sauce OnDemand include Digg, PBworks and Pivotal Labs.

"Testing web applications often requires running many tests in parallel on multiple browsers," said Jeremy McCarthy, QA Manager at Digg. "At Digg, we found Sauce Labs to be a very efficient way to achieve this objective."

In 2010, Sauce Labs also announced a Series A round of financing, as well as Sauce IDE and Sauce RC, free value-added distributions of the open source Selenium framework tools. With more than 3 million downloads, Selenium is the world's most popular functional testing framework. It allows web developers and QA professionals to automatically test how an application functions on multiple browsers, such as Firefox, Internet Explorer and Chrome and across operating systems, such as different versions of Windows and Mac OS.

"As Sauce Labs crosses the milestone of one million tests served in the cloud, we're seeing accelerating demand for a fast, easy-to-use cross-browser testing service," said John Dunham, CEO of Sauce Labs. "Since maintaining a test infrastructure and keeping up with new browser releases is such a pain for developers and testers, users increasingly see the cloud model making a lot of sense."
