Chad Troutwine Joins Yale School of Management Alumni Association Board of Directors

'02 SOM Alum, Seasoned Entrepreneur and CEO of Veritas Prep Becomes Youngest Member Elected to the Prestigious Yale SOMAA Board of Directors

MALIBU, CA--(Marketwire - May 6, 2010) -  Chad Troutwine -- a 2002 Yale School of Management graduate, seasoned entrepreneur and co-founder and CEO of Veritas Prep, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Yale School of Management Alumni Association (SOMAA). After being selected by members of the previous SOMAA Board, Troutwine's fellow alumni voted him onto the Board for a term running through 2013, during which time his duties will include leading the organization in its efforts to strengthen the relationship between the alumni and administration, fostering connections among members of SOM's esteemed pool of alumni, and helping SOM attain new heights in business education.

Troutwine brings to Yale's SOMAA Board a strong commitment to education and diverse professional experience. Prior to matriculating to SOM, he received a JD from the University of Missouri and helped re-define historic reuse and urban living in Kansas City, Missouri as an attorney and real estate developer. At Yale, Chad met fellow SOM student Markus Moberg and launched Veritas Prep, which has become the world's largest privately-owned GMAT prep and admissions consulting provider, helping tens of thousands of students achieve their highest possible score on the GMAT and thousands more gain entry into the world's elite graduate schools.

Although Veritas Prep is his primary focus, Troutwine's entrepreneurial aptitude has fueled his involvement in other business initiatives -- many of them education related -- including the creation of the largest early childhood education center in the Midwest, as well as an alternative energy campus to assist green start-ups. Additionally, Troutwine has produced a series of highly acclaimed independent films, the most recent of which is the much-anticipated Freakonomics documentary, based on the best-selling book.

"I am honored by the confidence my fellow Yale SOM alumni have expressed in my ability to serve as their representative," says Troutwine. "My position at Veritas Prep has allowed me the unique opportunity to meet Deans and Directors of Admission at dozens of top schools, as well as thousands of the world's most competitive MBA applicants. Consequently, I can share the best practices in graduate business education with the SOMAA Board. In return, I can offer Veritas Prep clients an even deeper understanding of what elite MBA programs seek in successful applicants."
