The company still exists as a manufacturing company. Currently JSC "VEF Radiotehnika RRR 'production is located in one building with a total production area of 20.000 sqm and it is: • speaker system manufacturing plant; • wood processing plant; • electronics plant including PCB manufacturing, electronic units manufacturing and assembly as well as automatic PCB assembly. There are several buildings on the total area of 12 ha owned by JSC "VEF Radiotehnika RRR" that are not directly related to production. At a time when there was mass production of electronics based on old technologies there was a need for massive production space and a large number of workers. Currently, with advanced technology and automation of production conditions, there is no real need for such large areas of production and human resources. Today Radiotehnika production is oriented towards production of high quality and European standard products including the Hi Fi-class sound systems and electronic assemblies and PCBs, including multilayers. There is still high demand for our products from many regions of the world. Radiotehnika building I1 mentioned in B & B article has not been used for production needs all the time of renewed independence and the space was rented to small manufacturing and trading firms. Currently, building is sold to company "Imanta Retail Park, which plans to turn it into a commercial and entertainment center, and Prisma will be one of its tenants.
