Dyesol has been selected to exhibit a building integrated photovoltaic
(BIPV) window based on Dyesol's dye solar cell (DSC) technology in the
Smithsonian Institution's Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum's Triennial
series 'Why Design Now?'

This nationally acclaimed exhibit opens to the public on 14 May 2010, and
runs through 9 January 2011. Key developments across multiple design
disciplines will be presented through eight themes: energy, mobility,
community, materials, prosperity, health, communication and simplicity.

Inaugurated in 2000, the Triennial series seeks out and presents the most
innovative, forward-thinking designs, and showcases solutions that promote
environmental stewardship, social equity, accessibility and creative
capital in more than 125 projects.

'This groundbreaking exhibition gives voice to a revolution taking place
within all areas of design practice, from how materials and products are
planned and conceived to how goods and services are manufactured,
distributed and reclaimed worldwide,' said Cara McCarty, curatorial
director of the museum.

Marc Thomas, chief executive officer of Dyesol, Inc., states, 'Dyesol is
honoured to be chosen by the Smithsonian Institution's Cooper-Hewitt team
to display our DSC BIPV window technology at the Triennial. This
prestigious exhibit represents an ideal venue for introducing Dyesol's BIPV
window technology to New York's architecture, engineering and design
community'

It is estimated that Dyesol's BIPV window will be viewed by up to 2 million
people during its stay at the Smithsonian Institution's Cooper-Hewitt
Museum. Dyesol's BIPV window display will continue to be exhibited within
the Smithsonian Institution's network of 19 museums from early 2011.

Note to editors
The Technology - DYE SOLAR CELLS
DSC technology can best be described as 'artificial photosynthesis' using
an electrolyte, a layer of titania (a pigment used in white paints and
tooth paste) and ruthenium dye deposited on glass, metal or polymer
substrates. Light striking the dye excites electrons which are absorbed by
the titania to become an electric current many times stronger than that
found in natural photosynthesis in plants. Compared to conventional silicon
based photovoltaic technology, Dyesol's technology has lower cost and
embodied energy in manufacture, it produces electricity more efficiently
even in low light conditions and can be directly incorporated into
buildings by replacing conventional glass panels or metal sheets rather
than taking up roof or extra land area.

The Company - DYESOL Limited
Dyesol is located in Queanbeyan NSW (near Canberra) and in August 2005 was
listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX Code 'DYE'). Dyesol
manufactures and supplies a range of dye solar cell products comprising
equipment, chemicals, materials, components and related services to
researchers and manufacturers of DSC. The Company is playing a key role in
taking this third generation solar technology out of the laboratory and
into the community.
