Release of a notification of Voting Rights pursuant to § 26 para. 1 WpHG

May 2010

Third Avenue Management LLC, New York, USA informed us pursuant to section
21 para. 1 of the German Securities Trading Act ('WpHG'), that on May 11,
2010 their voting interest in LANXESS AG, Gebäude K 10, D - 51369
Leverkusen, Germany (the 'Issuer'), crossed below the threshold of 3% and
amounts 2,484,189 voting rights of the Issuer corresponding to
approximately 2.99% of all voting rights on this day.

In total 2,484,189 voting rights corresponding to approximately 2.99% of
the voting rights are attributable in accordance with section 22 para. 1
sentence 1 no. 6 of the WpHG.
