Polish Anti-Trust Authorities served a fine notice in the amount of approx.
9.4 million Euros against Praktiker Polska Sp.z o.o.

Kirkel, 25 May 2010. Today, the Polish Anti-Trust Authorities served a fine
notice to Praktiker Polska Sp.z o.o., the operative Polish subsidiary of
Praktiker Bau- und Heimwerkermärkte Holding AG, in the amount of approx.
39.0 million Zloty (converted approx. 9.4 million Euros). Praktiker is
thereby accused of illegal price-fixing during the years 2000 to 2006.
Praktiker is currently analysing possible legal remedies against this fine
notice as well as the necessity to set up appropriate provisions; such
provisions could have an impact on the operating result of the second
quarter.
