Casper von Koskull joins Nordea

Casper von Koskull will join Nordea's Group Executive Management 1 September and
take responsibility for Corporate Merchant Banking and Capital Markets. 1 July
Nordea's Chief Risk Officer Carl-Johan Granvik steps down from the CRO position,
and will be replaced by Ari Kaperi, member of Group Executive Management.
Carl-Johan Granvik will retire by the end of 2010.

From 1 September, Casper von Koskull will join Nordea. He has a long career of
leading positions in banking in UBS and Citibank. For the last 12 years he has
been with Goldman Sachs, most recently as Managing Director and Partner of
Goldman Sachs International and head of the Nordic Investment Banking.

To further build on Nordea's customer centric relationship banking approach, and
to ensure that all service and product competences of Nordea reach the large
corporate customers, a new area called Corporate Merchant Banking and Capital
Markets will be established and headed by Casper von Koskull. This area will
include the present Corporate Merchant Banking, Financial Institutions and
Capital Markets Products divisions. These divisions will have unchanged roles in
the operating model with Corporate Merchant Banking continuing to cooperate
closely with Nordic Banking and Capital Markets Products continuing to serve all
customer segments.

- The appointment of Casper von Koskull is an important step on our journey
towards Great Nordea. The personal skills, insights and experiences he brings
will be instrumental in Nordea's strategy to be the leading bank among the
largest corporate customers in all Nordic markets. I look forward to having
Casper von Koskull in Nordea's Group Executive Management, says Christian
Clausen, President and Group CEO.

Carl-Johan Granvik will leave Nordea's Group Executive Management 1 September.
He has been with Nordea for more than 35 years, and has been CRO since the
Nordea merger in 2000. Granvik has now decided to step down from the CRO
position and plans to retire by the end of this year.

- Carl-Johan Granvik - who postponed his retirement until after the acute
financial crisis - has now decided that this is the time to leave in a
responsible manner. Carl-Johan's personality and experiences have been
instrumental in both forming and developing Nordea and ensuring our stability
through the financial crisis, says Christian Clausen.

The position as CRO will be taken over by Ari Kaperi, who has been a member of
Nordea's Group Executive Management for two years as Head of Institutional &
International Banking and before that held a number of management positions in
Nordea.

- I am very happy that Ari Kaperi has accepted this new position. He will
combine continuity with the constant development that is required to maintain
the prudency in our risk management that has been so important for Nordea, says
Christian Clausen.

As a consequence of the changes of the Group Executive Management, adjustments
will be made in the Group's organisation. The integrated Group operating model,
however, is maintained, and the focus on creating a strong universal
relationship bank unchanged.
