CENTROTEC Sustainable AG / Strategic Company Decision 07.06.2010 08:25 Dissemination of a Corporate News, transmitted by DGAP - a company of EquityStory AG. The issuer / publisher is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Corporate News - CENTROTEC Group international: Brink sales subsidiary targeting the future growth market for ventilation systems in Ireland Brilon, June 7, 2010 - The ventilation technology manufacturer Brink Climate Systems, a fully owned subsidiary of the listed company CENTROTEC Sustainable AG, is represented in the Republic of Ireland through its own sales subsidiary since May 2010. The Irish government has made a commitment to increase energy efficiency by issuing a national plan of action and is tightening the energy requirements for new buildings that will involve the complete sealing of the building shell and corresponding ventilation solutions. This gives Brink, one of Europe's market leaders for ventilation systems with heat recovery, every reason to move into this highly promising growth market. European countries' particularly ambitious climate protection targets and rising energy prices worldwide continue to stimulate fresh growth in the market for energy-saving solutions for buildings. Even in the smaller economic regions of the European Union, the drive to harmonise legislation means that the various national energy-saving regulations for buildings are gradually becoming tougher. Ireland's governing coalition and the newly created Department of Energy are now planning to enshrine in law the complete sealing and thermal insulation of building shells. Inside buildings, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery will then provide a supply of fresh air without energy losses. Corresponding binding rules are expected to be introduced over the next two years on the construction of new homes and commercial properties. The CENTROTEC group company Brink Climate Systems is a technological pioneer of building ventilation systems that achieve heat recovery rates in excess of 95 %. Its solutions, developed in close partnership with universities, environmental institutes, firms of architects and building authorities, guarantee a supply of fresh air inside buildings even with the windows closed, and prevent precious heating energy from being lost. The CEO of CENTROTEC Sustainable AG, Dr Gert-Jan Huisman, commented: 'High insulation calls for intelligent ventilation. By establishing our own subsidiary in Ireland, we have now created yet another bridgehead for our energy-saving solutions.' CENTROTEC has not previously served the Irish market with its own brands or sales organisations. Brink has now set up the new company, Brink Climate Systems Ireland Ltd., based in Naas, near Dublin, in collaboration with leading Irish ventilation experts. From there, it will serve customers via a nationwide network of specially qualified installation engineers. It will also offer training and installation support for developers who independently want to be able to offer all-in ventilation solutions with heat recovery. An extensive online information service is the starting point for those wanting to find out about Brink Climate Systems' comprehensive product range of energy-efficient solutions for an optimum interior climate. CENTROTEC expects that the new sales subsidiary will already achieve revenue in the single-digit millions from 2011. CENTROTEC Sustainable AG CENTROTEC Sustainable AG and its subsidiaries enjoy a presence in over 50 different countries. The principal group companies are Wolf Heiztechnik, Brink Climate Systems and Ned Air in the Climate Systems segment, which have specialised in heating, climate control and ventilation technology e.g. in the form of solar thermal systems, CHP units and residential ventilation systems with heat recovery, as well as Ubbink and Centrotherm, which have focused on gas flue systems and solar system components in the Gas Flue Systems segment. CENTROTEC is consequently Europe's only listed full-service provider of solar thermal systems and energy-saving solutions for buildings.
