SS&C Previews CAMRA's Impairments Manager

Impairments Functionality Showcased at IASA 2010 in Grapevine, Texas

WINDSOR, Conn., June 7, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- SS&C Technologies Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq:SSNC), a global provider of financial services software and software-enabled services, today previewed the release of CAMRA's Impairments Manager at the IASA 2010 Annual Educational Conference and Business Show. The new functionality provides integrated support for the management of data collection, analysis, calculations and workflow surrounding impairment processing with a focus on GAAP and Regulatory guidance.

With the CAMRA™ Impairments Manager, clients can automate the initial analysis and calculations to determine assets which may need to be impaired. The solution uses a rules-based engine giving clients flexibility in defining data parameters, by entity and accounting basis. The initial analysis drives the calculation of "suggested impairments". The CAMRA Impairments Manager also provides enhanced audit trails.  Once key decisions have been reached, the impairments are passed into the core accounting engine, through required financial statement disclosures and roll forwards.

"Fair value accounting practice is here and it is going to increasingly be monitored by management and regulators. SS&C has met the need for technology to integrate impairments management with back office processing," said Bill Stone, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, SS&C Technologies Holdings, Inc. "CAMRA's Impairments Manager, as part of CAMRA's investment accounting and reporting platform, assists with the automation of a complicated process and provides a comprehensive and sophisticated audit trail."
