AISystems Announces Revolutionary Crew Scheduling and Rostering Technology

KIRKLAND, Wash., June 7, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- AISystems, Inc. (OTCBB:ASYI) ("AISystems" or the "Company"), a technology leader in the development of business platform software for the airline industry, announced today that its revolutionary crew scheduling and rostering technology will be released in 2011.

Given the large impact of crew costs on the overall financial model for airlines, the effective scheduling and rostering of crew has a significant impact on airline profitability. Crew schedules and rosters create challenges and risks for airlines. There are numerous instances of flights being cancelled because of the unavailability of the right crew, in the right location. This results in flight disruptions, customer service issues and an adverse financial impact for airlines, including significant overruns on crew budgets.

The task of creating crew schedules and rosters based on preferential bidding and other options have historically been very time consuming and difficult to achieve. Depending on the size of the airline and the number of its crew, this may involve billions of permutations of crew pairings. The assignment of crew to these pairings involves complicated Linear Programming (LP) methods that are very tedious and extremely time consuming. Often, traditional methods fail to produce viable solutions leaving the airline with crew schedules that are infeasible. As flight schedules change, it becomes even more difficult for airlines to maintain realistic and cost effective crew schedules.

This technology allows airlines to create crew schedules and rosters in minutes and is proprietary to AISystems. Furthermore, it allows scheduling changes which are guaranteed not to adversely impact the efficiency of the schedule plan.

Stephen Johnston, President & CEO of AISystems commented, "The Company is very pleased with the initial results of our Crew Scheduling and Rostering prototype. Our technology should provide airlines with immediate and direct improvement to profitability, as well as facilitating greater efficiency in their logistics operations. It also creates a more user-friendly and efficient experience for crew members when they bid on desired routes and schedules. The new Crew Scheduling and Rostering Technology is expected to be made available to the market in 2011."
