HERNDON, Va., June 10, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The U.S. General Services Administration has recognized the Northrop Grumman Corporation-led (NYSE:NOC) joint venture National Security Technologies LLC (NSTec) and the National Nuclear Security Administration's Nevada Site Office (NNSA/NSO) with a 2009 Federal Aviation Program Award.

NSTec and NNSA/NSO received the award in the Small Aviation Program category, which recognizes their outstanding work and strict adherence to high standards in the Remote Sensing Laboratory (RSL) Aviation Program.
The RSL Aviation Program provides aerial support to the NNSA Office of Emergency Response to protect U.S. citizens from nuclear and radiological attacks or accidents from Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas and Andrews Air Force Base, Suitland, Md.
The Federal Aviation Program Awards recognize agencies that have demonstrated how their flight programs support mission success. An independent panel of aviation experts evaluated the organization's outstanding achievements in aircraft administration, operations, maintenance, training and safety.
