Integral Systems Demonstrates Next Generation Remote Site Management Capability That Reduces the Cost of Managing Networks at CommunicAsia 2010

Clearbox Systems n2 Remote Site Manager Powered by Newpoint Technologies' COMPASS Solution Provides Remote Site Monitoring, Management, and Remediation Capabilities in Compact Form Factor

SINGAPORE and COLUMBIA, Md., June 15, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Integral Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:ISYS) announced today at CommunicAsia 2010 that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Newpoint Technologies, has embedded its COMPASS Network Management Software into Australia-based Clearbox Systems' n2 next generation monitoring and control solution. The n2 with COMPASS gives network operators the ability to monitor, manage, and recover remote site equipment, thereby reducing network management costs, and increasing network availability and reliability.

Network operators are looking to reduce the cost of managing remote sites, while meeting increased customer demand for higher levels of network service and reliability. Using n2 with COMPASS, network operators can remotely remediate most software issues, significantly reducing administrative costs. For more common issues, users generate scripts that automatically resolve failures or perform an orderly shutdown, at which time the operator is provided a detailed information alert. If an issue cannot be resolved remotely, a technician can be dispatched with the proper equipment, saving operators the additional cost of multiple, expensive trips to a remote site.

"Reducing the cost of managing remote sites is critical to operators who are under constant pressure to increase service availability and coverage," said Wally Martland, President of Newpoint Technologies. "Often, these sites are located in extremely difficult places to access – mountaintops difficult to access in winter, or in sparsely populated townships or islands that sometimes can only be reached by helicopter. n2 Remote Site Manager with COMPASS is a proven solution that greatly reduces network management cost by curtailing unscheduled site visits. The ultimate result is increased availability for provided services."

The Clearbox Systems n2 provides industrially-hardened reliability, low-power design, and a powerful CPU in a small form factor (92mm x 87mm x 25mm). It is ideally suited for applications where space is limited, such as cellular radios, AM/FM/TV transmitters, SNG, mobile/transportable terminals, and maritime applications. The n2 monitors remote site equipment using serial, USB, contact closure, or Ethernet interfaces, and its modular design easily handles interface combinations. Modularized hardware, combined with Newpoint Technologies' powerful COMPASS Network Management Solution, delivers a system uniquely capable of addressing distributed remote site monitoring and control requirements.

"Newpoint and Clearbox are already recognized leaders in remote site monitoring solutions for managing terrestrial and SATCOM remotes," said Paul Solomon, Managing Director of Clearbox Systems, Pty Ltd. "With the enhancements that Clearbox has incorporated into the n2 product, customers now have an extremely cost effective and flexible platform from which they can run the COMPASS Software and manage sites that cost would have prohibited them from managing in the past."

The Integral Systems family of companies, including Newpoint Technologies, will be exhibiting at CommunicAsia booth 6G1-01 (USA).
