(Nasdaq:CYCC) (Nasdaq:CYCCP), a biopharmaceutical company developing oral therapies that target the various phases of cell cycle control for the treatment of cancer and other serious disorders, today announced that it filed its Answer and Counterclaims to the declaratory judgment complaint filed by Celgene Corporation. Cyclacel has filed counterclaims charging Celgene with infringement of each of four Cyclacel-owned patents and seeks damages for Celgene's infringement as well as injunctive relief. The four patents directly involve the use and administration of Celgene's ISTODAX® (romidepsin for injection) product.
The declaratory judgment complaint seeks to have the four Cyclacel patents, which claim the use of romidepsin for injection in T-cell lymphomas, declared invalid and not infringed by Celgene's products.
The four Cyclacel patents which are the subject of this action do not involve Cyclacel's clinical development candidates or its commercial products.
