ATP S.A. and Digital Check Together Sign Banestes -- First Brazilian Bank to Offer Check Truncation

New Partnership Finds Quick Success in the Strategic Brazilian Market

NORTHFIELD, Ill., July 20, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Digital Check (www.digitalcheck.com), a provider of desktop check scanners and remote deposit capture technology to the financial industry, in a new partnership with ATP S.A., a company specialized in technological solutions for the Brazilian financial system, secured its first success in signing an agreement with Banestes - Bank of the State of Espírito Santo.

Banestes, which is establishing a new system of check truncation that will reach all of its bank branches, as well as non-banking correspondents, recently purchased 1,000 Digital Check CheXpress® CX30 scanners for the project. The bank will have truncation fully operational by the end of July.

Banestes is first Brazilian bank to start clearing checks from digital images, and the first to fully meet the standards of the Camara de Compensacao do Banco do Brasil, a central Brazilian processing mechanism through which financial institutions exchange payment instructions and other financial obligations. The process will speed up check clearing processes, while reducing the transportation and logistics costs of documents. ATP S.A. utilizes Imagon solution for its projects, sending the scanned image of the check for clearing, without the need for the physical exchange of documents, and will be responsible for integrating its platform, and for the installation and maintenance of Digital Check scanners with the bank's banking system.

Nori Lermen, president of ATP, commented, "This partnership will bring great results for both companies, considering the excellent products and solutions our two companies offer to banks, especially in the area of check image capture and truncation."  Adrian Henigman, Country Manager of Digital Check in Brazil, added, "We look forward to strengthening this partnership with ATP S.A. and expanding our business to other Brazilian banks."
