Leonesse Takes Wine Club Experience to New Level

TEMECULA, Calif., July 21, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The best wine club in the Temecula Valley just got better.

In a unique partnership, Leonesse Cellars has teamed up with JC Resorts Group to offer discounted resort amenities and golf rates to its wine club members.

The Complete Wine Experience will allow Leonesse Wine Club members to not only enjoy award winning wines, but also world class golf and resort amenities all over Southern California.

At no additional charge, Leonesse Wine Club members now enjoy discounts of up to 40 percent on golf and lodging at seven JC Resorts properties.

"Leonesse is proud to be the first winery in Southern California to truly offer the complete wine experience with 90-point rated wines, championship caliber golf and unrivaled resort, spa and restaurant experiences as part of its standard wine club membership," said Rebaux Steyn, general manager of Leonesse Cellars.

Learn about and celebrate The Complete Wine Experience at Leonesse Cellars tasting room at 38311 DePortola Road in Temecula, CA on July 24-25 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Both days will feature live music, virtual and live golf games and chances to win more than 30 prizes, including complimentary spa experiences, and wine bottles signed by Leonesse owners and winemaker.

Participating JC Resorts properties include the luxurious Rancho Bernardo Inn with its nationally renowned spa, championship golf and San Diego's highest-rated restaurant, the oceanfront Laguna Beach Surf & Sand Resort and Temecula Creek Inn, which offers 27 holes of championship golf and spacious accommodations just minutes away from the winery. In addition, other JC courses include Encinitas Ranch and Twin Oaks, and the region's finest and most challenging executive golf at Oaks North and Reidy Creek.

Members of the JC Players Club are entitled to four complimentary wine tastings at Leonesse, four winery tours and four VIP tastings paired with cheese.

Wine typically is not found on the golf course but golf and wine have a strong connection that goes far beyond the golf cart.

Vacation goers who play golf traditionally have an affinity for wine and wine drinkers have an affinity for golf, explains John McNaire, vice president of golf operations for JC Resorts.

"We are adding value to both of our preferred membership programs," said McNaire, who pointed out that Leonesse wines are served at JC Resorts venues.

The partnership extends the reach of Leonesse Wine Club membership far beyond just Southern California Wine Country in Temecula.

"Wine club members in Orange County and San Diego can now benefit from their membership anytime they go to any of the JC golf courses or resorts located in their area," said Steyn.

Leonesse Cellars was founded in 2003 by Mike Rennie and Gary Winder, who together have more than 50 years of agriculture and grape-growing experience in the Temecula Valley. Their combined experience has lead to a true understanding of growing wine grapes of the highest quality. The result: concentrated and balanced grapes that produce wines of incredible depth and flavor. The winery is located at 38311 De Portola Road, Temecula, California.
