LOS ANGELES, Aug. 3, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The L&R Group of Companies, ("L&R") is pleased to announce that Five Star/U-Street Parking was awarded the airport parking operations contracts for both Washington Dulles International Airport and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA), as a result of a competitive solicitation process. With the signing of a new five year, multi-million dollar contract, Five Star/U-Street Parking will oversee the dynamic parking operations at both airports. In addition, Five Star/U-Street Parking is thrilled to unveil new marketing initiatives designed to increase awareness by highlighting new services, new offerings, and new branding of on-site parking at the airport.
Both airports are part of Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, (MWAA), which provides domestic and international air service for the mid-Atlantic region. Together, Washington's airports served more than 40 million passengers last year. Reagan National (DCA) served 17.6 million passengers in 2009. Dulles International (IAD) served 23.2 million passengers in 2009.
Five Star Parking's experience and first class airport operations expertise will support the 24-hour parking operations at Dulles and National Airports. As part of the contract, the Five Star/U-Street Parking's partnership will manage more than 34,000 spaces including hourly, daily, economy and valet parking services.
