SAN DIEGO, Aug. 9, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:KTOS), a leading National Security Solutions provider, announced today that Deborah S. Butera will join Kratos as Senior Vice President & General Counsel effective September 7, 2010. In this position, Ms. Butera will be responsible for overseeing the corporate legal department, acting as liaison between the Company and outside counsel, and providing strategic direction on all legal matters. She will be located at the Kratos headquarters in San Diego, CA.
Ms. Butera brings a distinguished background to Kratos, including her most recent experience as a Partner with the law firm of Shapiro Fussell in Atlanta. She has wide-ranging experience as lead counsel, has worked with a number of large publicly traded companies, and has successfully tried cases in court and arbitration proceedings. She has counseled clients on contract disputes, trade secret litigation, equitable relief matters, protecting intellectual property, commercial leases, and various other matters. Ms. Butera is a frequent public speaker on topics such as contract negotiation and dispute resolution strategies.
Kratos is among the many clients that Ms. Butera has represented. She has worked with many individuals on Kratos' current management staff, and has worked for a number of years with the Public Safety and Security Solutions Division and with Kratos' Information Technology Solutions Division, where Kratos performs its Information Assurance, Cyber Security and Situational Awareness work.
