Myers is CEO of Interactive Solutions Inc., a Tennessee-based company that specializes in videoconferencing, distance-learning, telemedicine and audio-visual sales and support.

His "Keep Swinging" message is that persistence is a key to success in business and in life. Myers delivers the message with humility and authenticity after leading Interactive Solutions from humble beginnings through the challenges of a partnership divorce, a cancer scare, deaths in his family and a survival-threatening embezzlement to become a company with $15 million in annual sales and a place on Inc.'s list of fastest-growing private companies in America five times this decade.

"After a very difficult year early on, I remember my dad listening patiently to me as I listed every challenge we had faced and overcome," Myers said. "Then my dad said, 'God is testing you and you have to decide what to do about it. Maybe it is time to fold up your tent. Or maybe it is time for you to step it up.'"

"I am grateful for the Inc. recognition and the Ethan Award nomination. They reflect ongoing interest in my story about overcoming adversity and achieving small business success," Myers said. "My story resonates because readers can learn from what I have been through."

"Keep Swinging" moved into the top ten on the Business Book Bestseller List compiled by Inc. Magazine and 800-CEO-Read in June after breaking in the top 25 in the previous two months.

Jay Myers' nomination for an Ethan Award also became public in June. Now in its fifth year, The Ethan Award annually honors some of the best in entrepreneurial writing from around the world. More than 1,200 nominations were made for Ethan Awards this year. The winners will be announced in October.

"Keep Swinging" has generated interest among college and graduate school students studying entrepreneurship and among small business groups, trade associations and professional organizations and has given me many opportunities to speak to business-minded audiences around the country," he said. "Those encounters have been tremendously satisfying."
