Release of a notification of Voting Rights pursuant to § 26 para. 1 WpHG

August 2010

Dodge & Cox, San Francisco, USA informed us pursuant to section 21 para.1
of the German Securities Trading Act ('WpHG'), that on August 17, 2010 the
voting interest held by the Dodge & Cox International Stock Fund, San
Francisco, USA in Lanxess AG, Chemiepark Leverkusen, Gebäude K 10, 51369
Leverkusen, Germany fell below the threshold of 10%. As of that date, Dodge
& Cox International Stock Fund controls 8,119,784 shares in Lanxess AG,
which represents 9.76%.

Dodge & Cox, San Francisco, USA also informed us pursuant to section 21
para.1 of the German Securities Trading Act ('WpHG') that on August 17,
2010, the voting interest held by Dodge & Cox in Lanxess AG, Chemiepark
Leverkusen, Gebäude K 10, 51369 Leverkusen, Germany fell below the
threshold of 10%. As of that date, Dodge & Cox controls 8,258,284 shares in
Lanxess AG, which represents 9.93% of the shares outstanding. All voting
rights are attributed to Dodge & Cox in accordance with section 22 para.1
sent 1. no 6 of the German Securities Trading Act ('WpHG'). Thereof, 9.76%
(8,119,784 voting rights) are attributed to Dodge & Cox from the Dodge &
Cox International Stock fund.
