LAKEWOOD, Colo., Sept. 3, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- More than 17.8 million people call themselves Italian-Americans, however, when it comes to the celebration of Italian food, guests at Festival Italiano are all Italian Sept. 11-12, 2010!
A free two-day celebration of Italian culture, Festival Italiano features the finest Italian food, wine and artisan vendors preparing and selling fresh Italian meals, treats, pasta and baked goods. Guests will also have the opportunity to view and purchase Italian arts while enjoying a full schedule of entertainment including live music, a kids grape stomp, chef demonstrations, wine tastings and a Bocce Tournament. A Festival favorite, the Italian Flag Throwers, will once again be flown in from Italy for the weekend event and perform throughout the event on Saturday and Sunday wearing colorful festival attire.
"It is the Italian culture that makes this event a success," said Brittany Maynor, Marketing Director of Belmar. "The community rallies behind this event – with more 75,000 people attending the event over two days. In fact, this year we added a new ticketed 'Grand Tasting' to expand the event and feature additional Italian delights in a seated dining experience."
The Grand Tasting is offered Saturday and Sunday evening for $25 per person in advance and $35 at the door. Admission includes Italian chef demonstrations, samplings, wine pairings and dessert. Grand Tasting proceeds and a portion of weekend sale benefit Project Angel Heart. Festival Italiano and all performances, music and activities are all to the community free on Sept. 11 & 12 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (free parking).
