Wall Street Journal to Host Current and Former New York Governors for Exclusive, Live Event: The Future of New York

Govs. Paterson, Spitzer and Pataki to Focus on Urgent Priorities for New York Region at Journal's New Interview Series


NEW YORK, Sept. 8, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Wall Street Journal today announced the launch of The Future of New York - an exclusive series of live events that bring together the New York region's most vibrant leaders for a dialogue on policy, economic and cultural issues. The interview series, a live extension of The Wall Street Journal's Greater New York section, will be held in New York City and moderated by top Journal editors.

The inaugural panel, titled "The Governors Speak Out," will assemble New York Governor David A. Paterson and former Governors George Pataki and Eliot Spitzer with an audience of the region's most prominent influencers at The New York Public Library on September 16.

The discussion, to be led by Michael Howard Saul, the City Hall reporter for Greater New York, will explore the most pressing challenges for the state, such as balancing the state budget, reviving the local economy and fostering compromise in Albany. The Future of New York series will be held quarterly. Other sessions to come will feature renowned experts on education, sports, the arts, real estate and additional topics that are central to the life of the New York region.
